CRANBERRY SAUCE: An Examination of The Paul Is Dead Hoax!

It's Halloween season, so I am sharing this video again!

CRANBERRY SAUCE: An Examination of The Paul Is Dead Hoax, Part One!

Part Two!

CRANBERRY SAUCE is a documentary I made and uploaded almost ten years ago and it was getting over 100,000 views, but was removed due to copyright reasons. While I maintain my usage of Beatles music and video clips was fair usage, I chose not to fight the removal. Later, someone else who had downloaded my video from YT and saved it chopped it into two parts and (for some reason) edited my beginning credits, yet the ending credits were left intact. Go figure! Anyway, that version has been uploaded by more than one person over the past few years.

I am glad it is still "out there," but last night I tried to upload my full, unedited version in HQ and it was blocked due to copyright again. I don't get how someone else can uploaded the same footage and not have their upload blocked, but there ya are.

Here's a brief history as to what this video is about:

I have been a Beatles fan for over 30 years, and was fascinated by the "Paul Is Dead" hoax. In fact, it was that fascination that actually led me to becoming a full-fledged fan of the Fab Four. Originally, growing up in the 1970s, I was only aware of the Beatles music heard on Top 40 radio, and "oldies, but goodies" stations.

In the mid-1980s, I read a book by William Poundstone titled "Big Secrets." It had a chapter on rock and roll and backwards masking, and in that section it mentioned the "Paul Is Dead" rumor. The book was written from an analytical standpoint, which was mostly about testing these rock and roll recordings to see if any were actual hidden messages.

I honestly never bought into the hoax, but it piqued my interest. So, I went out and bought the Beatles albums mentioned in the hoax, listened, and as I listened to the albums, I became a fan of the music itself. If The Beatles really had any involvement with the rumor, which is naturally debatable, maybe this was their intent all along: To get people to listen to the songs.

In 2003, on my public access television show in Evansville, Indiana, called "The Happy Show!" I did an episode that focused on the "Paul Is Dead" rumor/hoax as part of a Halloween special. That video was later uploaded to YouTube once I created this channel back in 2006.

In 2010 I decided to tackle a full-length documentary on the subject matter, and enlisted Al Chantrey (aka, Alan Williams), who provided music for my TV program, to serve as narrator to the doc. The documentary was up for, I think, around a couple of years before it was removed for copyright issues. I maintain then and now that the music snippets and video clips used are within fair usage, and that this video is intended for informational purposes with no intent of making any profit from it.

After its removal, I uploaded it to the now-defunct website for independent filmmakers, Openfilm. It closed in 2015. Sometime after my video was taken down from YouTube, another YouTuber who downloaded my video split it into two parts, and for some reason altered the beginning credits. Seemingly, this was done to remove my credit, yet the ending credits were left intact.

This two-part edited version has been shared by others since that time. I have no issue with people sharing the documentary, I just ask them to leave my video intact and not remove my credits.
My documentary purposefully leaves the question as to whether or not Paul McCartney really died in a car crash in 1966, and the alleged cover-up, unanswered. I want the viewers to come to their own conclusion.

As noted above, I have had an interest in this macabre mop top mythology for decades, long before the internet took this crazy piece of rock legend to even crazier heights and speculations.

Disturbingly, some take the belief that Paul really did die to such extremes that its nearly impossible to find a video about the Beatles without some PID believer commenting about "Faul" and such.

Still, whether one finds the whole matter just some nonsensical diversion, or feels there is some merit to the whole affair, I hope this documentary serves as a source for information and possibly some enlightenment. Thanks.
